A rounded hollow is visible as earthworks on lidar taken in 2009 on the clifftop above Burton Freshwater (1). It is considered likely to be an extractive pit of post medieval origin.The features were digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
