Summary

Five groynes are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1942 on Chesil Beach to the west of Bridport Harbour. This stretch of beach is now protected by a modern stone sea-defence at SY 459 904 and the earlier groynes are either demolished or buried under the sand.

Five groynes are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1942 on Chesil Beach to the west of Bridport Harbour. This stretch of beach is now protected by a modern stone sea-defence at SY 459 904 and the earlier groynes are either demolished or buried under the sand. (1). The features were digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
