Second World War anti-tank blocks are visible on aerial photographs of 1947 at Goathorn Close. A single line of anti-tank blocks extend east to west for 60m in total length across residential gardens. (1) Anti-tank blocks, made of reinforced concrete, were one of the coastal crust defence measures used to protect vulnerable areas during the Second World War. The site is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project (2/3). This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
