VILLAGE. Evacuated village SRF, with 2 photographs
Area requisitioned for battle training for Operation Overlord
Recorder- G. Matthews. (1,2)
Ruined buildings and structures of the former post medieval settlement of Tyneham are visible on aerial photographs (1). The settlement and surrounding area was requisitioned by the military during the Second World War for training purposes. These features were digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
