A pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs (1) and Lidar imagey (2) of Tyneham Cap. It is considered likely to be the remains of a post medieval extractive pit. This feature was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). It is still visible as a slight earthwork on the most recent aerial images available to the project.
