Summary

A circular mound is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs of Bindon Hill. It is considered possible this could be the remains of a late prehistoric round barrow. Alternatively it could be a feature associated with Second World War activity in this area. It is one of three similar features located in this area (MDO29387-89).

Full Description

A circular mound, approximately 13m in diameter, is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs of Bindon Hill (1). It is considered possible this could be the remains of a late prehistoric round barrow. Alternatively it could be a feature associated with Second World War activity in this area. It is one of three similar features located in this area (MDO29387-89). It was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
