Two pits are visible at this location as earthworks on aerial photographs (1) and Lidar imagery (2). They are considered likely to be the remains of post medieval chalk pits. A linear ditch leading to the pits is visible as a cropmark and is probably the remains of a trackway associated with them. This feature was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
