A pit is visible at this location as an earthwork on aerial photographs (1) and Lidar imagery (2). It is considered likely to be the remains of a post medieval chalk pit. A trackway leading to this pit is probably contemporary with it. This feature was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
