Full Description

A group of four possible Second World War slit trenches are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken during 1945 to the west of Poole Park. The earthworks consist of four short straight sections of ditch flanked by banks. The ditches range in length from 10 to 15 meteres and may have been excavated for military training purposes.(1) This site is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
