Full Description

This was the site of a large post medieval to modern clay pit. The Pit is visible on the 1st edition OS and aerial photographs taken in 1945 in Poole (1). It is recorded on the 1st edition OS as the site of South Western Pottery (2). The area has been subsequently redeveloped as shown on modern mapping. This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
