A series of large extractive pits and quarries are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar to the south of Acton, Worth Matravers. The features are considered likely to be of late 19th century or 20th century date. (1-3) . The site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
