Three linear banks 9-10m long with associated linear ditches are visible as extant earthworks on aerial photographs take in 1945 on the cliff-top above Kimmeridge Bay. The features are of uncertain date and function, possibly post medieval or early modern in origin.

Full Description

Three linear banks 9-10m long with associated linear ditches are visible as extant earthworks on aerial photographs take in 1945 on the cliff-top above Kimmeridge Bay. The features are of uncertain date and function, possibly post medieval or early modern in origin; their proximity to the Second World War military slit trenching described in MDO29198) may indicate a military origin. The features were digitally mapped as part of the the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). The features are no longer visible on recent Google Earth imagery.
