A Second World War military camp in the grounds of Smedmore House. Over 100 tents (and sites of tents) with associated buildings are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1945(1-2). The features were digitally mapped as part of the the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
