A series of denuded medieval strip lynchets to the north-east of Swalland Farm are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar.

Full Description

(Area centred SY 92987860) Field System. Pronounced strip lynchets here. <1>

Strip lynchets at SY 930787, cut by bench quarrying, belong to the former hamlet of Little Kimmeridge. <2>

Almost ploughed out; about 8 ha. of former lynchets can be detected, mainly as soil marks in arable. <3>

A series of denuded medieval strip lynchets to the north-east of Swalland Farm are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs <4>. Some are still extant earthworks on Channel Coast Observatory lidar taken in 2008 and 2009 <5-6>.The site was digitally mapped as part of the the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
