Two low hollows, 23m across, are visible as low earthworks on lidar to the north-west of Polar Wood. The features are considered likely to be extractive pits of uncertain date. The site was digitally mapped as part of the the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
