A series of Second World War small bomb craters or shells holes to the sourh-west of Eldon Seat are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs (1). Approximately 35 small craters were identified and digitally mapped as part of the the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). They are no longer visible on the latest Google Earth imagery.
