Summary

A possible enclosure or spoil bank, which may be of medieval or post medieval date, is visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the north west of Round Down, Swanage.

Full Description

A possible medieval or post medieval enclosure is visible on recent lidar imagery on Round Down, Swanage. The earthworks consist of three sides of a possible sub-rectangular banked enclosure. The enclosure measures 38 m by 26 m. Its function is unclear. (1-2) This site was digitally plotted during the South west Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
