Full Description

Two possible post medieval to modern extractive pits, or Second World War bomb craters, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1951 in Durlston Country Park. The earthworks consist of two sub-circular pits, surrounded by banks of spoil. They measure approximately 7 m and 9 m in diameter and are on a south west-north east alignment. (1) This site was digitally plotted during the South west Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
