Full Description
Six dispersed extractive pits of possible late post medieval to modern date is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s and 1950s to the north of Durlston Country Park, Swanage. The quarries are located on limestone, visible as pits over an area measuring approximately 160 m by 130 m. (1-2) This site was digitally plotted during the South west Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
