Full Description

The site of an observation post that was probably constructed during World War II. The site is located on Fort Henry on Redland point and remains in a good condition. <2>

A Second World War observation bunker, Fort Henry, is visible as a structure on Redend Point, Studland <1>. It is a rectangular building measuring approximately 30 m by 5 m. The bunker is still visible on recent photographs <4>. The observation post was constructed by the Canadian Royal Engineers in 1943; after whos home base it is named after. It is listed together with an earlier gun emplacement (see MWX1462). This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
