Full Description
A large area of Second World War bomb craters is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the east of Ferry Road, Studland Heath. Several scattered craters are located around the north west of the area. This area was used for military training. The craters are sub-circular and measure between 2 m and 10 m. They are visible over an area measuring approximately 450 m by 210 m. (1) Further areas of bomb craters are located to the south and east (see MDO29041 and MDO29039). This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
