Full Description
A possible Second World War military site is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s to the east of Knowl Hill, Studland. A possible building base is surrounded by an area of bare earth with a path leading to the west from it. A small bare earth area is located adjacent to the west and may be the site of a second building. The purpose of the site is unclear. (1) It may have been associated with other military activity in the area. An area of trackways run to the north of the site (see MDO29033) and an area used for bomb testing is located to the east (see MDO29036). This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
