Full Description
Two areas of medieval or post medieval ridge and furrow are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1970s on Studland Hill. (1) The ridges are oriented north-south and are visible over an area measuring approximately 470 m by 100 m. The site is still partially visible as an earthwork on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) The cultivation marks appear to overlie an Iron Age or Roman field system (see 6 019 262). This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
