A pit is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs to the south-east of Middlebere Farm (1). It is considered likely to be the remains of an extractive pit of probable medieval or post medieval date. This feature was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). It is not visible on the most recent comprehensive imagery available to the project (2).
