Full Description
A circular pit, approximately 11.7m in diameter, is visible as a faint cropmark on aerial photographs to the south-east of Middlebere Farm (1-2). It is considered likely to be the remains of an extractive pit of medieval or post medieval date. Its close proximity to a possible late Neolothic/early Bronze Age henge monument (MDO28974) however, means that an earlier origin for this feature cannot be ruled out either. It was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
