A group of structures, pits and earthworks located across South Middlebere Heath are visible on aerial photographs (1-2). They are considered likely to be the remains of a military site associated with Second World War activities in this area. They were digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). Some of these features are still visible as earthworks on the most recent comprehensive imagery available to the project (3).
