Full Description
A group of pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of Arne Heath, taken in 1947 (1). It is possible they could be the remains of post medieval or modern extractive pits. The extent of area of these features was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). They are not visible on the most recent comprehensive imagery available to the project (2), the area now being under forestry plantation.
