A curvilinear ditch and associated banks are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of The Moor, Arne, taken in 1947 (1). It is considered likely to be the remains of a drainage feature of probable post medieval or modern date. It was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). This feature is still visible on the most recent comprehensive imagery available to the project (2), although is has been much overgrown by scrub.
