A probable post medieval extractive pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1945 at the northern end of the Double Dykes. The pit is sub-circular and measures 7 m in diameter. (1) This site is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
