Full Description
A Second World War barbed wire entanglement is visible as a structures on aerial photographs of 1945 at the northern end of the Double Dykes. The barbed wire is aligned approximately south west north east. It extends for a distance of 33 m, turns to the north west for a distance of 30 m, then turns to the north east for a distance of 38 m. The line of barbed wire is probably associated with the defences around the Chain Home radar site (see MD28870) in this area. (1) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
