Full Description

A three-sided rectilinear banked feature, approximately 6.2m x 7.3m, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of Arne Farm taken in 1947 (1). It was located in the north-east corner of a field just to the east of Arne Farm. A Second World War heavy anti aircraft battery (MWX675) is located just to the west of Arne Farm and it is considered possible that this earthwork feature may have been a gun emplacement associated with the battery. It was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
