Monument record MDO28915 - Second World War bomb crater, Gold Point Heath, Arne

A circular feature is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of Gold Point Heath, taken between 1942 and 1947. It is considered likely to be the remains of a bomb crater associated with Second World War activities in this area.

A circular feature, approximately 7.7m in diameter, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of Gold Point Heath, taken in 1942 (1) and 1947 (2). It is considered likely to be the remains of a bomb crater associated with Second World War activities in this area. It was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). This feature is not visible on the most recent comprehensive imagery available to the project (3), this area now being obscured by vegetation cover.
