Full Description
A line of Second World War beach scaffolding is visible as a structure on aerial photographs of 1945 at White Pits on Hengistbury Head. The scaffolding measures 105 m in length, with a further line of posts or scaffolding extending down the beach to the south. Further beach scaffolding can been seen at the high water mark (see MDO28909). (1) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
