Full Description
A Second World War slit trench is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1945 to the north of White Pits. The trenches may have been associated with the defences around the Chain Home radar site (see MD28870) or RAF Southbourne (see MWX1164). The trench is angled and measures approximately 23 m in length. (1) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
