Second World War slit trenches are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1945 between the Double Dykes and Warren Hill. They may have been associated with the defences around the Chain Home radar site (see MD28870) or RAF Southbourne (see MWX1164).

Full Description
Second World War slit trenches are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1945 between the Double Dykes and Warren Hill. They may have been associated with the defences around the Chain Home radar site (see MD28870) or RAF Southbourne (see MWX1164). The earthworks are visible over an area measuring 230 m by 16 m and comprise six sections of angled trenches with banks of spoil around them. (1) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
