Full Description
A Second World War Type 22 pillbox is visible as a structure on aerial photographs of 1945 in an area now covered by housing to the east of Harbour Road, Wick. The pillbox was probably an outlying part of the defences around the Chain Home radar station on Hengistbury Head. The pillbox is surrounded by a circular entanglement of barbed wire. (1) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
