Full Description
A possible late post medieval or early modern groyne is visible as a structure on aerial photographs of 1947 on Mudeford Spit to the north of Hengistbury Head. The structure extends across the dunes from west to east for a distance of 60 m. (1) The groyne is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
