Two circular features are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of Crichton's Heath taken in 1947 (1). They are considered likely to be the remains of bomb craters associated with Second World War activities in this area. It they were digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). These features are not visible on the most recent comprehensive imagery available to the project (2).
