A late post medieval or early modern groyne is visible as a structure on aerial photographs of 1969 at the northern end of Mudeford Spit, to the east of the Black House. The structure measures 13 m in length. (1) The groyne is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
