A circular feature, approximately 9m in diameter, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of Crichton's Heath taken in 1947 (1). It is considered likely to be the remains of a bomb crater associated with Second World War activities in this area. It was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). This feature is not visible on the most recent comprehensive imagery available to the project (2).
