Full Description

A probable post medieval extractive pit is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs of 1947 to the east of Disraeli Road. The pit is sub-oval in shape, measuring 9 m by 7 m with a bank of spoil around it. It is located on the Branksome Sand Formation. (1) The site is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
