The site of a possible historic slipway located on the river bank south of Wareham town, is visible as a submerged structure on aerial photographs taken in 1945 (1). This feature was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). It is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project (2).
