An area of possible late post medieval field boundaries and drains is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1947 to the east of Stanpit Marsh. The earthworks are visible over an area measuring approximately 95 m by 67 m. The possible field boundaries and drains are visible as banks and ditches, oriented north west-south east and south west-north east. They form partial sub-rectangular enclosures measuring up to 27 m by 22 m and may have be the remains of a larger system or fields or drainage. (1) The earthworks appear to fit within the post medieval field system, as shown on the 1st ed OS map . (2) The site is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (3) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
