Full Description

Post medieval boundaries banks, which are probably associated with a system of drainage in the same area, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1947 adjacent to the western bank of the River Stour. The banks may have been formed by a build up of spoil from the excavation of drains (see MDO28774). They are oriented south west-north east and fit in with the orientation of the post medieval field system. (1) The banks still partially survive as earthworks on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
