Full Description

A possible Second World War slit trench is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1946 to the east of Little Sea. The earthworks consist of a angled ditch flanked by banks. The ditch measures up to 48 m in length. The trench may have been excavated for military training purposes. (1) This site is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
