Full Description
A possible post medieval wreck site is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1947 in the intertidal zone to the north of Sandbanks. The site is visible as a sub-rectangular depression measuring 10 m by 4 m and may be the site of wrecked vessel. (1) The site is not visible on modern maps or the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) Two similar sites are located nearby to the west and south east (see MDO28755-6). This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
