Full Description
A group of six circular hollows are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of saltmarsh along the northern edge of Wareham Channel taken in 1947 (1). They are considered likely to be the remains of bomb craters associated with Second World War activity in the area. Some of these features are still partially visible as cropmarks on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagey available to the project (2). They were digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
