Full Description
An area of post medieval drainage is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1947 on low lying land immediately to the east of St Andrew's Hill, Brownsea Island. The area of drains measures 46 m by 43 m with drains oriented east-west. The drainage may be associated with former reclamation of this low lying area of land. Further areas of drainage and two field boundaries are located to the east (see MDO28732-3 and MDO28735). (1) This site is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
