Full Description
An area of post medieval drainage is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1947 on low lying land to the east of St Andrew's Hill, Brownsea Island. The area measures 100 m by 28 m, with drains oriented north-south. The drainage may be associated with former reclamation of this low lying area of land. Two field boundaries are situated immediately to the west (see MDO28732) and two other areas of drains are located to the west and south east (see MDO28734-5). (1) This site is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
