Full Description

Two field boundaries which may be post medieval in date are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1947 on low lying land to the east of St Andrew's Hill, Brownsea Island. Two linear boundaries are visible as parallel banks, measuring up to 150 m in length and positioned 55 m apart. The boundaries may be associated with former reclamation of this low lying area of land. An area of drainage is situated immediately to the east (see MDO28733) and two other areas of drains are located to the west and south east (see MDO28734-5). (1) This site is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
